Tiskárna – try out a restaurant with a rich menu of Czech dishes

Do you wish to try out a genuine Czech cuisine? Then we have an ideal restaurant for you! Its name is Tiskárna and is located directly in the city center.

When it comes to menu, you probably won’t find many restaurants which offer so many traditional Czech dishes as this restaurant. As an example may serve beef goulash, pork schnitzel or beef in cream sauce. You can also try out dishes, such as pickled cheese or rabbit pate, which are certainly more unusual. And let’s not forget about Czech beer, because without it, it wouldn’t be a genuine Czech restaurant.

The interior of the restaurant is rather difficult to describe. In certain parts of the restaurant, you will get this modern or even futuristic feeling because of flowers and transparent roof, while on the other part of the restaurant you will feel like it’s a modest and cozy interior consisting of white walls and wooden furniture.

If you haven’t tasted Czech food yet and you are not sure where to go, Tiskárna is a great restaurant where you could start from.

I visit this restaurant regularly with my colleagues during lunch times because the restaurant is very close to my workplace. I really have nothing to criticize about this restaurant. They work swiftly and are nice. There have been several occasions when my meal arrived sooner than my beer, which doesn’t happen to me anywhere else. As for the meals, I recommend you trying out goulash, an incredible cream sauce and duck leg.

Czech cuisine is a specific Central European type of cuisine, which is known for its soups as an appetizer and various sauces with dumplings as a main dish. Because the Czech Republic is so rich on ingredients, you can also find meals with wild animals and fishes as a part of Czech menu. Another important ingredient are mushrooms, which are common in Czechia during rainy seasons. Many types of pies and pastries, which are popular in Europe actually come from Czech cuisine. Despite the diverse menu, not many meals actually originate from Czechia.

As mentioned above, a traditional lunch consists of soup and a main dish. Soups are mostly made of vegetables, various seasoning and a bit of meat. They are thick and fill your stomach quite quickly, therefore they alone can be eaten as a main dish. As traditional soups are considered tripe, garlic, mushroom, bean, goulash soups.

As for the main dishes, they consist mainly of meat, primarily pork, beef and chicken meat. Traditional meat food would be Schnitzel, Roast pork with dumplings and sauerkraut and roasted carp.

An irreplaceable part of Czech cuisine are the beforementioned sauces. They are considerably dense so they will quickly satisfy your hunger. Their main and probably the only side dish are dumplings. The most famous ones would be cream sauce, tomato sauce, mushroom sauce, dill sauce and sirloin sauce.
