The best running places in Prague

Nowadays, jogging belongs among one of the most popular activities which don’t require any equipment whatsoever. What’s more, jogging helps you clear your mind and get your body into shape. No wonder it’s so popular. But where to go jogging? In this article we will give you several suggestions where to go jogging.

Náplavka

Náplavka (the riverbank of Vltava river) or city center in general, is one of the best, if not the best, places for you to go jogging if you wish to experience mesmerizing and exceptional sights. You can go jogging on Náplavka along the Vltava river, then cross the bridge and run back on the other side, and then once again cross the bridge to get to the starting point. Another option is to take a route across major squares, such as Wenceslas square or Old Town square. Either way, we recommend you go jogging early in the morning as these places are crowded with tourists throughout the day.

Ladronka park

Ladronka park is a popular place not only for jogging, but also for cycling and skating mainly thanks to the adjusted flat surface which is a great news for runners. In addition, there you will also find the longest illuminated route in Prague. Once you feel tired, you can sit down either on a grassy surface, which can be found almost everywhere, or a nearby bench. It’s also worth mentioning that you can purchase refreshments in a nearby pub/restaurant. More information about Ladronka park can be found in our article.

Stromovka park

Stromovka park is a contender for the largest park in Prague and occupies the area to the north from Letná park. Like many other large parks in Prague, this one is also very popular among runners and offers numerous routes. There is a route which is only in the inner parts of the park, then there is one larger route around the outer perimeter of the park and Sea world (Mořský svět), and some people even run all the way to Prague Troja across the bridge, finish the route there, and then come back.

Letná park

Letná park is situated in a north not far away from the center. The main advantages of this place are the surface which is flat most of the time, and the amount of greenery it offers. Moreover, the park also offers multiple beautiful sights, for example Hanavský pavilion or Letná chateau. You can also enjoy a view of Vltava river, so you can occasionally stop for some rest and take a couple of photos. More attractions can be found in our article about Letná park.

Kunratice forest

Located in the Southeast part of Prague quite far away from the city center is Kunratice forest, a place which will allow you to escape from the stressful daily routine and focus on your running. The forest offers numerous routes which are ideal not only for jogging, but also for roller skating or walking and relaxing. If you are tired of running, you can rest at one of the benches or stop in front of information signs and read about the fauna and flora of this forest.
